On September 8, 2019, The Bay City Rodders Car Club is known as the “biggest little car club in the West”, and for good reason. This small bunch of car enthusiasts put on a great show each year in Belmont Shore, Long Beach. This event is open to vehicles built in 1985 or earlier, and offers a wonderful staging area for anyone who enjoys classic cars. The Belmont Shore Show brings in over 700 vehicles and a wide variety of automotive vendors. Best of all, they donate 100% of the substantial profits to various charities. Packed with excitement and stationed along a street teeming with wonderful restaurants and intriguing shops, this show is a must-attend for any car lover.
If you are searching for a more flexible event, the Balboa car show offers multiple chances to take advantage of a fun, local car show. This event runs every Sunday from 7-9 a.m. in Newport Beach. Offering a turnout of 70-80 vehicles every weekend, participation is open to any owner of a vintage car or motorcycle. Come along to admire some of the local best of breed, and bring yours along to compete. Admission is free and prizes are given every week. What’s better, free donuts are offered to the first 24 owners who show up to participate.
This event is held on September 28 from 7 a.m.-4 p.m, and clocks in as the world’s largest one-day charity car show, presenting a mind-boggling 3,500 automobiles and over 200 vendors and exhibitors. Registered as a non-profit California organization and run by volunteers, every cent of donations raised goes directly to prostate cancer research. The entry fee is $15 and children under 12 enter for free. With music and prize giveaway opportunities throughout the day, this is one show not to miss.
Car shows are fun and family-friendly events where you can learn about new technologies, watch demonstrations, see new models up close and personal, and ask all those burning questions. California is full of great summer auto shows! These five shows are a sure hit, but there are a great many other Southern California Car Shows available throughout the season. With so many to choose from, it shouldn’t be hard to find one that’s right up your alley.
